HOUSE SYSTEM
The house system forms the basis of all competitions in the school. It promotes team spirit, group loyalty and healthy competition. The school is divided into four houses named- Shivaji, Tilak, Ashok and Raman but untidily they called “STAR” and their house colours are Red, Yellow, Green and Blue respectively. Students compete for the inter-house competitions, demonstrating their talents and skills, to bring glory to their respective houses.
Language Lab
HPS provides Language Lab for all students in the four basic requirements,
Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing (LSRW).

Library
“An investment in knowledge always pays the best interest”
The HPS Library is one of the hall marks of the school. The library hall is big and spacious and equipped with good storage and display furniture, it has plenty of space for students to accommodate and study. It is a venue of interactive conferences too. It has large collection of books on different subjects for different age groups. Efforts are made to create and promote the reading habits amongst the students. Open shelf system has been adopted so that students can have access to the books. Books are issued for carrying home for a week. HPS library is fully digitalized and in spite of having huge collection it is consistently and constantly being added with new Titles the year round. Besides the encyclopedias, reference books, text books, and other – a vast number of CDs and eBooks on several subjects and topics are available in the library. The students can have access to all the digital information right at the click of the mouse. It truly reflects the academic dynamics of the school. Internet facility is also available for reference purpose. A full time librarian is available
Medical
A healthy body keeps a healthy mind. The school has its own dispensary. The school dispensary takes care of the minor illness and injury in the school itself. Regular medical check-ups are done for all students from time to time. Lectures, workshops are also arranged from doctors of reputed hospitals. Provision of health cards to all the students individually is also made mandatory. The school infirmary takes care of the first – aid requirements of the students under a qualified and experienced staff. We have two beds for sick students to rest until their parents pick them up.
Computer
This is an age of computer technology and HPS understand it’s need. That’s why school has very well settled and managed computer lab. So that every student of HPS gets an opportunity to learn computer and make use of this tool for further learning. Broadband facility is also available for all. Here we have Wi-Fi campus.
Physics
HPS have a well established smart physics lab , well equipped with optical, electrical and mechanical instruments .Students are given exposure to practicals as well as project making.
Chemistry
Hps has a well set chemistry lab with all glass ware, selling, electronic balances, physical balances, titration set and chemical. Lab is also having a distillation unit as well as centrifugation system.
Biology
Biology lab is fully updated with requirements for conducting practicals as per latest syllabus .Lab is well established with specimen , optical instruments , prepared slides ,water baths, electronic balances and centrifuge. All stains reagents & chemicals needed are also available.
Maths
Maths can be made as interesting as a game. Students fiddle with various concepts of mathematical knowledge and verify these by practical observation in the maths lab eg. height, weight, length, 32 School size, speed, area, volume etc. The lab has good models of geometrical forms and these give the concrete picture of the abstract forms.
Composite Science Lab
HPS also offering composite science lab for middle level students. Here they are getting experience about all the major fields of science and maths. It is very helpful to flourish young scientific mind.
Cafeteria
- The School cafeteria has facilities for snacks and lunch.
- Menu for snack and lunch will be published.
- All the eatables can be procured through payment coupons.
SMS Facility
The School shall send SMS to the parents during emergency situations.
School Stores
- All the academic material shall be supplied through the stores on demand. The entire prescribed Textbooks, Workbook, Mapbook, Notebooks, Leaflet etc should be procured from the school stores only.
- All the requirements of the students shall be routed through the class teacher and class teacher shall do the needful.
Educational visits, excursions and events
- The school also takes the children for field trips and learning is encouraged by seeing, feeling and doing different activities.
- The school arranges from time to time certain picnics, excursions and school tours which are to be attended on specified payments by all the students compulsorily.
- The school arranges Interschool competitions, Art, craft, science exhibitions, theatre activities & other school functions from time to time which may require the students to contribute for the same.
Kids Pool
HPS provides a pool for kid’s enjoyment and learning about basic swimming. Kids enjoy with splash of water and clean, hygienic pool area. They closely supervised with PTIs and their teachers during their pool party.
Transport
Transport facilities will be provided depending on the routes and availability of seats and children will be charged for it. The service is being offered with all the safety measures and well trained operating personals. The service is being provided in order to facilitate all students to the city traffic life and to save time for the commutation purpose.
School provides transport coaches for commuting children to school and back home. If parents need changes or cancellation in the school transport, they should apply to the Principal and obtain permission. School children using school transport are expected to be escorted to and from their pickup points, failing which the child will be dropped at school.
School Publications
The Hukumchand Public School Magazine ‘UDAAN’ is an annual feature and is published in March.
The School Editorial Board, which is responsible for these publications, comprises staff editors as well as student editors. The production of the publications gives the student a useful experience as well as knowledge about editing and publishing.
